Campanile Chambéry

We are regulars as the hotel is perfectly located on our trip to snd from Switzerland. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are a fair size and the beds very comfortable. Great also as we can bring our dog. Restaurant is welcoming with its terrace and the surroundings allow a nice walk with the fog. Price value is excellent.

We have stayed at the Campanile a few times now on our way to Italy as it is near the Frejus tunnel. The rooms are geared for travellers but they are clean and functional and even have a tea/coffee tray with biscuits and kettle which is quite unusual for this type of stop over. We eat at the restaurant and the food and service is always good. Breakfast is exceptional and there is plenty of choice including some hot dishes, pancakes as well as the usual croissants and cakes.

Comfortable, clean, quiet location accessible by car to town. Area is a mix of residential and commercial, not attractive but not unpleasant. Good restaurant on premise with fine cuisine, which was a great asset for tired travellers. The nice surrounding landscape softens the motel like experience.

From the outside, it wasn’t very appealing - a bit tired and run-down in an area of cheap budget hotels. However once inside things were different - a clean and comfortable room with kettle provided, plus all the amenities you would expect in a 3 star hotel. Secure parking and a really good restaurant completed the package.

We use the Campanile as a nights stop over if we drive down to Italy. It's clean and comfortable and our dog is allowed in our room not in the restaurant. Evening menu is very good and the breakfast is excellent.
